National Medicines Verification System

The Verification System consists of two databases, the European Medicines Verification System (EMVS), which is a European database and the National Medicines Verification System (NMVS), a national system where the packs are verified.

National organisations are being set up in every country to operate their national database. In Croatia, HOPAL (Croatian Medicines Verification Organisation) is responsible for building and managing the Croatian medicines verification system. The main purpose of the NMVS is to serve as the verification platform that pharmacies or other registered parties – such as wholesalers or hospital pharmacies – will use to check the authenticity of a product.

More information on roles and processes of NMVS/NMVO can be found on the EMVO webpage.

If you need further information regarding CMVS (HOPAL) please check „What we do“ or contact us on .
